Answers
  1. No the battery is recharged with a charger. We can create a system to recharge while you ride but the gain is far too little against the cost of the system.
  2. Distance per charge depends on which bike and battery package you choose but you can expect 30 to 50 Km as a rule of thumb.
  3. Speed from a hub motor model is generally around 25 KPH. Consideration must also be given to terrain, size of rider, tyres and tyre pressures etc.
  4. All of our electric bikes meet Australian regulations and have 200 Watt Motors.
  5. Yes they may be legal but price is a good indication of quality and service. We recommend Lithium batteries at 36V Lithium is the battery of choice and 36V compared to 24V will carry you further climb steeper hills and last longer. In addition 36V is kinder to your motor, wiring and controller. Be very careful some sellers are new to this business and they are importing bikes with limited or no spare parts. Some also Import a container of bikes before they become known. Subsequently the stock is slow moving and has to be quit at cost or sold on e-bay. The seller then closes the doors and your bike becomes an orphan.
  6. No we do not supply petrol models. Our client base is Queensland and petrol models became outlawed in November 2007.
  7. Yes all of our bikes are supplied with chargers specific to their needs.
  8. Battery life depends on the battery type. Lithium Iron up to 800 cycles Nickel Metal Hydride up to 400 cycles and Lead acid up to 300 cycles.(The term cycles in this instance is the recharging of the battery from empty to fully charged).
  9. The seats on our bikes are generally very good but we appreciate that cycling can be uncomfortable after a while in the saddle. Infact it can be detrimental to your health. We recommend a Hobson EasySeat for distance and casual riders and for the racers we sell Aussie Butt Cream to avoid chaffing.
